My go-to for hat sizing
Here's a link to a great blog post if you have questions about hat sizing. I used it to make 3 different sizes for minion hats! Very helpful!

Lizbeth Lace Barefoot Sandals
I REALLY REALLY wish I had my "young" feet again. I just love barefoot sandals and spent most of my summers barefooted, but I had no sandals. Now I have sandals but ugly "old" feet. But if you have nice feet these barefoot sandals are for you! Show off the pedi girls!
If you want the written pattern, it's available in my Ravelry store for a small donation HERE.
Want to purchase? Buy them HERE.
Here's a picture tutorial of how to make my Lizbeth Lace Barefoot Sandals. Very cool to wear on the beach, in yoga class, or with flip-flops (whoops, I almost called them "thongs" which would confuse the younger generation). Or you can even dress up your favorite shoes! Anyhow here's the dish....
*Special stitch used- dc2tog - Yarn over (YO) hook, insert hook in space, pull up a loop, 3 loops on hook. YO hook, pull through 2 loops. YO hook insert in next space, pull up a loop, 4 loops on hook. YO, pull through 2 loops, 3 loops on hook. YO pull through last 3 loops. One dc2tog made.*
Start with a chain 5, dc into 3rd ch from hook, repeat twice, then chain 4. You will end up with a chain that looks like this with 19 sc and 3 dc/ch spaces.
do not turn, but work back into chain.
R1 Dc2tog, ch 2, dc2tog, ch2, dc2tog in 1st dc/ch space from hook.
ch 1, then repeat in next dc/ch space, ch 1, repeat in last ch space, ch 2 and slst into 1st ch.
One side worked.
Working around to other side, ch 4, dc2tog, ch 2, dc2tog, ch 2, dc2tog in same space as opposite side, ch 1. Repeat pattern in next 2 spaces.
Ch 2 and slst in 2nd ch of beginning ch 4.
You should have a ch 2 sp between each dc cluster, a ch 1 space between each motif and a ch 2 space in each corner.
Next row, do not turn work but work back around R1.
R2 Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc, ch 2 in 1st ch 2 sp, dc, hdc, sc in next ch 2 sp.
(ch 3, sc in next space) 7 times. (there should be 1 space left on that side)
Ch 3, in next sp, sc, hdc, dc, chain 10 (that's the toe loop, so chain a few more if you need to. 10 chains work OK for size 7-8 feet)
Now work around other side, dc, hdc, sc in 1st space.
(ch 3, sc in next space) 7 times. (there should be 2 spaces left)
Ch 3, sc, hdc, dc, ch2 in next space, dc, hdc, sc in last space. Join with slst to 1st sc.
You can finish off here, and attach the ties separately, or slip stitch into the next 2 stitches and into the ch 2 space. Then ch 1, sc in same space, and chain for however many inches you need for ties. (I usually chain for 24 inches, or just enough to wrap around the ankles twice and tie in front.) Then finish off. Attach thread to other corner with slst, ch 1, sc, then chain for 24" (or desired length). Make sure all ties are relatively the same length! Fasten off and weave in ends making sure they are secure. You can dab a bit of fabric glue on the corner ties for added security.
Go Forth and Be Hippy!

* GUIDELINES ONLY: The above reflect the most commonly used gauges and needle or hook sizes for specific yarn categories.
** Lace weight yarns are usually knitted or crocheted on larger needles and hooks to create lacy, openwork patterns. Accordingly, a gauge range is difficult to determine. Always follow the gauge stated in your pattern.
*** Steel crochet hooks are sized differently from regular hooks—the higher the number, the smaller the hook, which is the reverse of regular hook sizing
